California is the leading agricultural state in the nation, and probably the world for that matter. Three counties within CVFT’s region (Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin) are included in the top ten agricultural producing counties in the United States. This region is a national treasure given its unique combination of prime soils, irrigation systems, long growing season, commodity processing and delivery systems, and technologically advance farming practices.
Farmland continues to be developed in California at an alarming rate. Throughout the region, cities and counties are facing intense urbanization pressures. The protection of productive farmland is crucial to the State and region’s economic stability, food safety and security, as well as the overall environment.
Volunteers are vital to CVFT’s ongoing efforts to conserve this incredibly valuable resource. Your help is needed and we invite you to join us. We hope you will consider becoming a CVFT volunteer. Your efforts can truly make a difference.

We have six committees that provide a wide range of support to the Trust. As a general rule the committees meet every other month by conference call. For specific information on each committee see our Committee Descriptions.

Committee members who would like to increase their involvement in the organization are encouraged to become a member of the Board of Directors. The Board meets every other month, generally in San Joaquin or Stanislaus Counties. For additional information on board member expectations see our Job Description for the Board of Directors.
Sponsor an Event or Program
Individuals who may not have time to serve on a committee or the board may financially sponsor an event or program. If you are interested in this opportunity please contact the CVFT administrative office for information on events or programs that could benefit from your sponsorship.
